Is Green Tea A Cancer Fighter?

It is common knowledge that the Japanese and the Chinese have been drinking green tea for years. It is believed that the green tea is their secret to health and lack of illnesses. Not to go without mention, green tea has been considered among the top ways to lose weight. However, few people are aware of the benefits green tea can have when it comes to fighting cancer.

For newcomers to the green tea trend, they all seem to be in agreement when it comes to the benefits. These individuals come from different walks of life, have different interests and are in different tax brackets. Not all of them are health nuts, although they will agree with the changes they feel since they began drinking it.

Why is green tea so popular across the globe? Well, there are several different reasons why this could be. However they all seem to be linked to the benefits that have been documented and studied over the years. Antioxidants is one of the major benefits to making green tea part of a healthy diet.

So, the burning question still lingers. Can green tea prevent cancer? This is a slightly difficult question to answer, yes it can assist in the prevention of cancer cells. Green tea is high in antioxidants. Antioxidants are known to effectively fight against cancerous cells.

Freshly brewed green tea is loaded with the antioxidant epigallocatechin-3 gallat, usually referred to as EGCH. The main reason that the green tea is able to hold on to the important antioxidant is because it is brewed and not fermented. This makes it easier for your body to fight against diseases including cancer.

If we are unable to fight against the free radicals that can enter the body through our lifestyles, the body can become over worked and soon begin to give in to the disease. However, if we can keep the antioxidants up in our bodies we can effectively fight against the free radicals that will otherwise cause the body to breakdown its defense.

Green tea has an extremely high level of antioxidants which assists in keeping the body free of toxins that can cause it harm. It has been said that simply changing the liquid part of your diet to consist of about four cups of green tea each day can drastically decrease the amount of free radicals in your body, thus keeping it free of cancer.

The National Cancer Institute has done its own research and studies on the benefits of green tea on cancer. The results were amazing, they agree that drinking green tea on average four times a day can assist in deterring cancer growth.

This research led them to want to do more extensive research on green tea. They have begun studies to determine if green tea can play a role in curing cancer. From this research, they have concluded, green tea can shrink existing tumors and stop the growth of new cancer cells.
